Angie Gates

Angie is a partner practicing in the areas of commercial finance, real estate, construction, and general corporate law. Angie joined DBL Law in 2002 and is based in the firm’s Northern Kentucky office.

In her commercial finance practice, Angie advises regional and national lending institutions, as well as private and non-profit organizations in a wide array of lending transactions. She has extensive experience with commercial loans including those involving construction, real estate, bonds, participation, syndications and other asset-based loans.

Angie’s real estate practice has comprised of multiple aspects of real property law including land development, joint ventures, curing title defects, sales and acquisitions, easements, restrictions, leasing, and financing. Representative clients include owners, buyers, developers, and builders.

Angie is also the President of Excel Title Services, LLC, a full service real estate title company and wholly owned subsidiary of DBL Law. Excel Title Services provides a fully array of title related services including title exams, title insurance, escrow and closing services, etc., for both commercial and residential markets.

In her construction practice, Angie represents developers, owners, designers, and contractors. She negotiates construction contracts, in a variety of formats, for substantial projects in the tri-state area and assists clients in other aspects of the development, as the projects progress.

Angie also assists both large and small organizations in her general corporate practice. She advises clients through asset and stock purchases, company formations and governance, buy-sell agreements, real estate transactions, finance transactions, mergers and acquisitions, as well as providing general corporate advice.

Angie is active in the community and has served and continues to serve on a number of charitable and community boards. She currently serves as a member of the board for the Corwine Foundation, the real estate holding company for Freestore Foodbank, Inc. Angie recently served as a member of the board for St. Claire Healthcare, an integrated healthcare system in Morehead, Kentucky, and UpSpring, a charity focused on serving children in the Greater Cincinnati area who are experiencing homelessness. Angie resides in Erlanger, Kentucky with her husband and two children.
